Welcome to Therapy with Nina K Garrett
A Warm, Safe Space for Reflection & Growth
You’re not alone. You just need a guide.
Right now, things might feel overwhelming. Perhaps you’re struggling with anxious thoughts, feeling stuck in old patterns, or carrying the weight of something you can’t quite name. Whatever has brought you here, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you. It’s about walking with you, step by step, towards a place of clarity, strength, and ease. Together, we’ll explore what’s holding you back, untangle the knots, and find the tools that work for you.
Meet Nina
Hello! I am Nina Katherine Garrett, a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, and I believe therapy should feel like a conversation, not a prescription.
I don’t offer a one-size-fits-all approach—because you’re not a one-size-fits-all person. Instead, I take time to understand who you are, what’s happening in your life, and what kind of support will genuinely help.
I combine evidence-based CBT with a compassionate, personalised approach, making space for both structure and flexibility. Sometimes that means challenging old beliefs, sometimes it’s about learning practical tools, and sometimes it’s just having someone really hear you for the first time.

Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
Yes! Research shows that CBT delivered online is just as effective as face-to-face therapy. You’ll receive the same structured, personalised approach, whether we meet in person or remotely.
Who is CBT for?
CBT is helpful for anyone struggling with anxiety, low mood, trauma, OCD, phobias, and self-esteem challenges. If your thoughts feel overwhelming, if you’re stuck in unhelpful patterns, or if life just feels harder than it should, therapy might help.
What happens in a CBT session?
We’ll start by understanding what’s going on for you. CBT is a structured approach, so we’ll identify thought patterns, emotions, and behaviours that might be keeping you stuck. Together, we’ll work through practical tools to help you manage challenges in your daily life.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies by person. Most people need between 6 and 12 sessions, with a review at session six to check progress. Some conditions, such as PTSD or OCD, may require more sessions.
What if I can’t afford therapy?
I offer concessions on a case-by-case basis. If finances are a concern, let’s have a chat—I want therapy to be as accessible as possible.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
If you need to cancel, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged in full, unless there’s an emergency.
Will therapy be confidential?
Absolutely. Everything you share is completely confidential. The only exceptions are if you or someone else is at serious risk of harm, in which case I may need to break confidentiality to keep you safe—but I would always try to discuss this with you first.
Can I speak with you before booking?
Of course! I offer a free 30-minute consultation so we can chat, see if we’re the right fit, and answer any questions you have.
A Space That Feels Like Home
Therapy should feel safe, warm, and grounding—like settling into a cosy chair with a hot cup of tea. My practice reflects that, with soft lighting, blankets, plants, and space to breathe.
This isn’t a clinical, impersonal setting. It’s a place where you can exhale, be heard, and begin to untangle the things that weigh you down.
